Over the 35-year experience of our production activities, the plant has completed more than 200 modernizations of up to 500 MW turbines. More than 150 major engineering projects have been implemented to modernize basic components and systems for more than 75 turbine modifications.
Modernization (retrofitting) allows to completely restore turbine service life and is a reasonable and economically value-added alternative to a complete replacement of turbine and generator with new ones, both in price and deadlines for completing the entire range of work. There is no need to carry out large-scale construction and installation works by dismantling old foundation and constructing a new one, which entail additional costs and long completion times.
When fulfilling modernizations, our main task is to restore turbine unit service life on the basis of high-quality, modern, and low-cost projects carried out independently by “QTMP” and in partnership with leading design and power engineering enterprises of the countries.
For this purpose, “QTMP” has developed and created a number of unique projects and technologies for modernization that allow:
- Improve quality to used-up and outmoded equipment;
- Improve engineering and economic figures;
- Increase equipment reliability;
- Reduce repair costs;
The whole range of modernization and renovation works is carried out by us on a turnkey basis and includes:
- General contract
- Renovation of turbine units by restoring fleet life from concept creation to commissioning
- Modernization of turbines, their certain components and systems during major overhauls
- Complete equipment with components and necessary materials and equipment (manufacturing and delivery)
- Total setup of updated equipment
- Technical and engineering support in the modernization of thermal power plant master equipment
During the “QTMP” LLP production activities, more than 200 modernizations of master and auxiliary equipment were carried out, including the work at various facilities:
- Power plants of "Sakhalinenergo" PJSC in 1995-1996 (Sakhalin SDPP, Yuzhno-Sakhalinskaya CHP Plant). Major repairs and reconstruction.
- Power plants of “Kazakhmys Energy” LLP (Zhezkazgan and Balkhash CHP Plants, Toparskaya SDPP-2) in 1993-2021. Major repairs of turbines and generators by replacing cylinders and rotors, restoring flow parts and reconstructing certain components
- Power plants of “Arcelor Mittal” JSC in 1993-2015. Major repairs of power plants’ turbines and generators by rotor reblading and partial modernization of turbines and turbocompressors.
- Power plants of “Qaragandy Energy Center” LLP (Qaragandy CHPP-1 and CHPP-3) in 1993-2009. Turbine and generator overhauls with partial modernization and rotor reblading.
- Qaragandy SDPP-1 in 1993-2020. Major repairs of turbines with partial modernization and rotor reblading.
- Shymkent CHPP in 2013-2015. Major repairs of turbines and generators with partial modernization by rotor reblading
- Kostanay CHPP in 1993-2021. Major repairs of turbines with partial modernization and rotor reblading.
- Petropavlovsk CHPP in 2006-2021. Major repairs of turbines with partial modernization and rotor reblading.
- Power plant TPP-TBS (“ArcelorMittal Temirtau” JSC) in 2013. Reconstruction of PT-60-90/13 turbine by replacing HPR, HPC and flow parts, LPR re-blading, as well as modernization of HPR-LPR coupling.
- Power plant CHPP-2 (“ArcelorMittal Temirtau” JSC) in 2021. Renovation and modernization of T-100-130 turbine by replacing HPR, HPC and steam distribution components, modernizing PRR and replacing flow path units.
